1. Who controls the information
Just Brands, LLC is the operator and controller of personal information described in this policy. Privacy questions and rights requests may be sent to data@justdrops.app.
2. Information handled by the site
- Basic browsing
- IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, performance, security, and error logs handled by the hosting provider.
- Search
- The words you type, chosen filters, and the results returned. Quotes does not intentionally save free-text searches in its database.
- Quote submissions
- Submitted text, claimed author and source, context, optional email address, rights attestation, review status, and editorial notes when you use the submission interface or API.
- Rights requests
- Your name, email, optional organization, the record involved, your statement, status, and resolution notes.
- Browser preference
- A light, dark, or system theme choice stored locally in your browser.
Please do not put names, contact details, health information, or other sensitive personal information into the search box.
3. Why information is used
- to deliver pages, search the catalogue, remember a requested display preference, and respond to requests;
- to verify submissions, attribution, provenance, and rights;
- to protect the service, prevent abuse, debug failures, and maintain reliable operations; and
- to meet legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, these activities rely on performance of the service you request, legitimate interests in operating a secure and accurate catalogue, compliance with legal obligations, and—where specifically requested—consent. We do not use search text for advertising or automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Service providers and disclosures
Information is disclosed only as needed to operate the service, including to:
- Vercel, for website hosting, content delivery, security, and request/runtime logs;
- the configured PostgreSQL host, for catalogue records, submissions, and rights requests;
- OpenAI, when semantic search is enabled, to convert free-text search words into an embedding used to rank quotes; and
- professional advisers, authorities, or another operator when required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, or involved in a legitimate business transfer.
OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default and that embeddings may appear in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless different retention controls apply. Quotes sends search text, not your email address, to the embeddings endpoint.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or allow third-party advertising trackers on the site.
5. Retention
- Theme preferences remain in your browser until you change or clear them.
- Free-text searches are not intentionally stored in the Quotes database; infrastructure and OpenAI retention may still apply as described above.
- Submissions are kept while pending review and afterward only as needed to document editorial decisions, prevent repeated abuse, and resolve disputes.
- Rights requests are kept while open and afterward as needed to document the response and meet legal limitation, recordkeeping, and compliance needs.
- Security and service logs are kept according to provider settings and only as long as reasonably needed for security and operations.
Information is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer needed for those purposes.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact data@justdrops.app and describe the request; we may need to verify your identity.
You may complain to your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Because the site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal does not change current behavior; there is no sale, sharing, or cross-site tracking to turn off.
7. International use and security
Providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are handled through provider contractual safeguards or other lawful mechanisms. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
8. Children
The site is a general-audience reference service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact data@justdrops.app so it can be reviewed and deleted.
9. Changes
Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate. Previous practices are governed by the policy in effect at that time.
