The highest result of education is tolerance.
Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.
The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good.
A lunch of bread and cheese after a good walk is more enjoyable than a Lord Mayor's feast.
Lastly, work secures the rich reward of rest, we must rest to be able to work well, and work to be able to enjoy rest.
For as with the close of the day, so with that of life; there may be clouds, and yet if the horizon is clear, the evening may be beautiful.
Work indeed, and hard work, if only it is in moderation, is in itself a rich source of happiness.
To be released from the absorbing affairs of life, to feel that one has earned a claim to leisure and repose, is surely in itself no evil.
We all admit, though we often forget, the marvellous power of perseverance, and yet all Nature, down to Bruce's spider, is continually impressing this lesson on us.
If we have done our best to do, and to be, we can rest in peace.
How much more interesting would every walk in the country be, if Man would but treat other animals with kindness, so that they might approach us without fear, and we might have the constant pleasure of watching their winning ways.

Time spent in innocent and rational enjoyments, in healthy games, in social and family intercourse, is well and wisely spent.

The way certain people behave has a lot more to do with their thoughts than you. Maturity is to not engage with them when they try to provoke you. Their power lies in your response. Reject their invitation to conflict with indifference. Guard your peace. Your health is important.
Self care is being honest with yourself about your negative habits. It's taking ownership of your faults and growing from them. It's diverting from negative space to positive one. It's creating balance. It's watering your own garden. It's being gentle but honest with yourself.
Life becomes better and days become lighter when you focus more on appreciating little things and less on big worries. At some point you realise that peace is more important than trying to please others. Genuine people, happy heart and good health are real luxuries.
True power is in ability to stay calm when someone tries to trigger you. If their actions and words don't bother you, they lose any power they want to hold over you. Stay unshakeable. Your indifference is the message they need.
Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace.
In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you alone, Yahweh, make me live in safety.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
